Overview

Sup Korok (Pawi) stands as a humble yet vibrant culinary spot tucked away in Jalan 2/108c, Taman Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur. This restaurant embraces the essence of hawker-style dining, where the focus is purely on creating authentic, flavorful dishes rather than polished, exclusive service. The space feels like a classic warung—unpretentious and calm—offering a quiet refuge amidst the bustle of the city.

The heart of Sup Korok (Pawi) lies in its namesake dish, the Sup Korok. It’s a comforting, richly flavored soup, brimming with tender meat and accented by the crunch of fresh celery. While the presence of bones requires some care as you enjoy it, the robust depth of flavor more than compensates. This soup is a perfect choice for those craving warmth and nourishment in every spoonful.

Beyond the soup, the menu reveals an enticing array of “masakan panas” — hot dishes that include standout items like the Ayam Kepak Sambal and Tomyam Merah. These dishes capture a balance of bold and intricate flavors, resonating well with fans of hearty, Malaysian-Thai inspired fare. The chilli chicken wings come highly recommended too, celebrated for their spice and crispness. The food is freshly prepared which means some waiting time, but the quality and authentic taste justify the pause.

Sup Korok (Pawi) appeals to a target audience that values genuine, flavorful hawker cuisine over trendy atmospheres. It’s ideal for locals and adventurous diners alike who seek hidden gems that prioritize taste and comfort. The environment is deliberately simple—clean, relaxed, and quietly inviting—allowing the food to take center stage.

Complementing the meal are modest beverages that provide a refreshing balance, fitting naturally within the overall dining experience. Those looking to explore beyond typical Thai restaurants will find the flavor profiles here both familiar and intriguingly different.

In short, Sup Korok (Pawi) is a treasure for anyone eager to discover authentic, affordable Malaysian culinary delights in an unassuming setting. It’s a reminder that some of the most memorable food experiences come from places where heart and tradition meet humble surroundings.

Don't get fool by the environment because this place is a hidden gem... just hidden inside it. Their Sup Korok, especially if you are looking for some warmth in terms of comforting food... the soup is very flavorsome, and it is made up of soft meat and a very good mix of crunchy celery added. Bones are troublesome but still the flavour never dissapoint at all. The "masakan panas" dishes are also very good, although this is an understatement, and they are all freshly cooked because it will took some time for them to prepare you all the dishes that you order. The beverages, honestly speaking, are not bad, and they go well along with the foods served there. The environment, again don't judge the book by it's cover because the foods won't dissapoint you at all. The place is very calm and quiet, strictly speaking, the kind of environment provided by a typical "warung."
